More momentum for Dahlkemper, race upgraded to “Democratic Pick-Up” by top election predictor
Erie, PA - There is more good news today for businesswoman and candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania's third district Kathy Dahlkemper: nationally recognized elections expert and University of Virginia Professor Larry J. Sabato has rated the third district race as a "Democratic Pick-up."
"This mirrors the momentum we are feeling on the ground. People want change, they are responding to my message of job creation, economic growth, and middle class tax cuts," said Dahlkemper. "Phil English voted with President Bush 87 percent of the time and supported trade deals that shipped jobs overseas. Those are the wrong priorities for western Pennsylvania."
Sabato and his website, the Crystal Ball , were recognized for their accuracy in the 2006 election cycle by the Pew Charitable Trust‘s Project for Excellence in Journalism, which wrote that the Crystal Ball, "came closer than any other of the top ten potential predictors this cycle."
Additionally, the Rothenberg Political Report, which had previously listed the race as "Toss-Up/Tilt Democratic," re-released a report with the race still tilting towards Dahlkemper, writing that English was in a "vulnerable position."
"We've got the momentum, and I will keep working hard for the change we so desperately need," said Dahlkemper.
To date, all independent polling data show Dahlkemper leading the race against English, and Sabato's announcement comes on the heels of a strong fundraising report for Dahlkemper.
