In PA-03, Democratic Registration Out Numbers Republican by 6 points
Erie, PA- After a Democratic surge in the primary, Democrats have a 6-point lead over Republicans in registration (48-42 percent) showing that Pennyslvania's third congressional district is trending Democratic.
"Despite a barrage of negative attacks, Kathy Dahlkemper won the primary election in Pennsylvania's third congressional district with 45 percent of the vote, more than 20 points than that of her second place contender," said Tina Mengine, campaign manager for Kathy Dahlkemper for Congress. "Even with a four way Democratic primary, Kathy Dahlkemper received 1300 more votes than Phil English in the primary, and for the first time Democrats have a 6 percent lead in registration over Republicans. With tens of thousands of new voters in the district, a 6-point advantage in registered Democrats and an electorate tired of status quo politicians the wind is at Kathy Dahlkemper's back to win this election in November. After nearly eight years of Congressman English and President Bush's missteps in Iraq, and neglect for domestic priorities Pennsylvanians are eager to join a campaign such as ours that is about changing the direction of our country and restoring faith in our government."
